Joss Whedon’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D delivers a huge, end-of-film action-sequence style punch per episode. The Marvel series is only in its infancy, but this newbie promises to wow anyone with a taste for big budget films packed with adventure. Spoiler (which is in the trailer anyway) Agent Coulson, from the Avengers and Iron Man, is back, head of a new task force named S.H.I.E.L.D (Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division), a secret super team created to handle the existence of new super-individuals and super-weird-things, such as the hacktivist organization Rising Tide. The great thing about Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D is that you don’t have to have had much experience of the Marvel Universe to watch this series; almost all of the characters are entirely new, and those that aren’t are given a small back story to start off. If you’re looking for some simple, entertaining, big-budget fun, then this series was created for you.
