Arrested Development is an odd one but a good one. The show's history is full of contradictions; it aired to strong critical acclaim and is full of stars like Michael Cera, Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, Portia de Rossi and Alia Shawkat, yet had very low ratings when aired and low viewership, resulting in it not being renewed until Netflix agreed to exclusively air a full fourth season despite Fox cancelling airing of the show in 2006. The show, despite receiving such low viewership on traditional television channels, has accumulated a vast cult following. The series follows Michael Bluth and his various and often strange family relationships following his resignation from the family development company, and subsequently his realisation that the family patriarch George Bluth Sr. has been arrested for having committed fraud and was using massive amounts of company money to satisfy 'personal expenses'. The series is incredibly quirky and very funny, and often regarded as comedic gold.
