Girls is smart, funny and very sexy, but in a way that makes more sense to the average person than other TV shows might. The series follows the life of Hannah, a 20 something woman played by the writer of the show Lena Dunham. Hannah lives at the bare minimum in Manhattan with her friends while she works unpaid in a literary internship. She is quirky and very honest; about life, about love, about sex. The series is much like Sex and the City, but more current, genuine, and in many cases relatable, bridging the gap between our teens and our thirties, a period which isn't often full of working out how to talk to the opposite sex, or how to start a family, but something in between. Girls is all about how life doesn't just magically fall into place like we're expecting it should when we 'grow up', but is messy and complicated, and that that's how it's meant to be.
